Intro to Information Science and Technology
Application of concepts

As an introduction to library science and to the courseware at Southern Connecticut State University, this course was particularly helpful in acquainting me with library and information science terminology.  While I was already proficient in the use of computers, I was not familiar with metadata and had never used meta search engines.  Learning to do more indepth searching has helped me to help library patrons find more useful materials.  I also learned to create a website as part of the course and was able to use it in future classes and in creating my portfolio.  This skill enabled me to have active input in the creation of my library's website (http://www.lambuth.edu/library/library.html) and in creating a website for our new Lambuth-B'Nai Israel Center for Jewish Studies (under construction).
