My library houses a 24% government depository. However, I had very limited knowledge of the information housed in the depository before taking this course. I am now able to direct students not only to reference and general collection materials but to the vast amount of information available through the government. I learned to trace a bill using paper documents and find information now readily available on the Internet. I will be targeting our government documents collection at the Fall Faculty Conference at my institution and will encourage faculty in all disciplines to take advantage of the statistics, maps, legal information, and other resources freely available to their students.
